Over 280 Scouts, Beavers, Cubs and Explorers from across the district gathered on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Tuesday evening (June 12th) to take part in a mass sandcastle building competition.
The youngsters from Burnham, Highbridge, Cheddar, Bridgwater, Cannington, Wedmore, North Petherton, Bridgwater, Weare and Huntspill took part in the annual contest next to the town’s jetty.
The entries had a Olympic theme with plenty of flags, Olympic rings and torches being crafted in the sand. One entry even included the whole Olympic stadium!
Co-organiser Lorna Walker told Burnham-On-Sea.com she was delighted at how the event had gone.
She added: “The event is a wonderful opportunity for groups from across the district to come together. We’ve had a great evening and the good weather made perfect conditions for sandcastle building!”
