Burnham-On-Sea Scouts have raised hundreds of pounds for the town’s BARB and RNLI rescue services.
The youngsters held an 18-mile sponsored cycle ride along the Strawberry Line and raised £929 which has been equally split between the two organisations.
Scouts spokesman Mark Whittow told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are really pleased as a group to be able to support the RNLI and BARB as they are so important for us locally.”
“We are now focussing on our own group’s fundraising to raise £20,000 to rebuild our Scout hut roof here in Burnham. We would like to hear from any members of the public who can help us with our fundraising.”
The group is planning a series of fundraising events this year to raise cash for the roof appeal.
