Burnham-On-Sea Scouts have raised hundreds of pounds for their group by packing shopping bags at Asda’s store in Highbridge.
Members from 1st Burnham-On-Sea Scout Group joined in the event between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, helping to pack hundreds of bags for customers in return for donations.
Leader Jacob Beard said: “Our thanks go to everyone who supported us. We managed to raise a fantastic £615.89! This money will go a long way in getting a group of our Scouts to Wintercamp in January.”
Wintercamp is a national Scout camp at Gilwell Park near London. The Scouts will be getting involved in loads of exciting activities including amphibious all-terrain vehicle driving, climbing, highropes, quad biking and white water rafting to name a few.
“Your donations will help make it possible to give our young people many fantastic experiences and memories.”
He added: “We are looking for local people to join our friendly team of adults helping to provide Scouting to local young people, actively engaging and supporting them in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society and giving them skills for life.”
“Visit our website here, fill out the contact us form, and come along to learn more about what we do. There is a role for everyone to fit around your busy lifestyles with a level of commitment to suit you.”
