A free calendar showing pictures of Burnham-On-Sea is being delivered to every house in Burnham and Highbridge by a local firm celebrating its fourth decade of business.
Scott’s Furnishings in Victoria Street, Burnham is marking its 40th year of business by distributing a free calendar to every home.
Owner Steve Scott says that as well as a ‘thank you’ to loyal customers, he hopes the calendar will encourage locals to call in who have never looked around the large shop.
“It’s so easy to overlook what is on your doorstep. You may assume a local store to be expensive, but with Scott’s promise to price match any shop or internet seller, how can you loose?” he says.
“It’s simple – before you order, show Scott’s where you can buy exactly the same item, delivered to your home, unwrapped, assembled ready for use, all the wrapping and the bed, suite or piece of furniture you are replacing, taken away without charge.”
“On top of that Scott’s will even deliver your old furniture to a charity shop or to another local address without any charge at all. And yes, Scott’s will match any like-for-like price if it’s lower than at Scott’s.”
“People may not appreciate the size and selection at Scott’s. There are always about 50 beds and over 100 chairs/sofas on display. We also have a vast selection of carpets and hundreds of curtains to chose from, with a full measuring and installation service.”
Steve Scott says that advertising is expensive and once delivered gets dumped in the nearest bin while a calendar is a useful way to promote his business all year round.
If it proves to be successful, Steve hopes to make it an annual promotion. This year’s calendar features photos from Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The free Burnham calendar is being delivered door-to-door by the end of November. If you don’t receive yours, there will be a limited quantity available to collect from Scott’s Furnishings in Victoria Street.
Steve Scott added that he is using the calendar to make it clear that the rumour that he is opening or has opened a shop in Highbridge is not correct. Scott’s Furnishings, established 40 years ago, only trades from Victoria Street and are not associated with any other businesses.
