Schools in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge are to share a £14.5million injection of funding.
Somerset County Council has this week approved a multi-million pound package of capital investment.
It means that projects to build a replacement primary school in Highbridge at Churchfield School, as well as new classrooms at Burnham-On-Sea Infants, can go ahead.
Cllr Osman, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “I am pleased to allocate over £14.5million to provide state-of–the-art facilities for our children.”
“A number of new buildings are planned across the County and we will now be working closely with the schools, teachers, pupils and our partners to provide the resources they want.”
£4.6m from the funds will be spent on high priority, high cost maintenance works across a number of schools, £1.2m will replace poor condition classrooms across the county.
Cllr Osman has also given the thumbs up for completion of projects approved in previous years.
