Somerset County Council has revealed details of how it will make in excess of £500,000 in savings in senior management costs.

The Council announced on Friday that two corporate directors and a service director will leave the Authority by the end of March.

Miriam Maddison, Deputy Chief Executive and Corporate Director for Community, will leave after nine years at the Council. Louise Goll, Corporate Director for Children and Young People, leaves after two years. And Matt Jones, Service Director for Client Services, leaves after ten years.

“I would like to put on record my thanks for their tremendous hard work and dedication on behalf of residents and staff during the most difficult of financial times,” said Chief Executive Sheila Wheeler.

The Council aims to have its new streamlined structure in place from 1 April 2012. It published its new slimmed down senior management structure in December with a total of 14 posts down from the current level of 18.
