Dozens of colourful scarecrows were on display in Brent Knoll over the weekend during the village’s annual scarecrow festival.
A total of 56 scarecrows went on show alongside roads, gardens and paths across the village, with a theme of ‘brands’.
The festival – which was held for Girlguiding Brent Knoll – was held on Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd September.
“This is always a very creative event which involves residents and visitors alike, with dozens of scarecrows to locate,” said a spokeswoman.
The ‘Peoples favourite’ winning entry was NASA by the Baker family, with the joint second place going to ‘Milka’ by the Luff Family, ‘Aardman’ by the Steer Snellgrove Family and ‘Walkers’ by the Piers and Mawby Families. The Trail sheet winner was Eva Lewis.
The main winners were: 1st – ‘Aardman’ by the Snellgrove Steer Family; 2nd – ‘Walkers’ by the Piers and Mawby Families; 3rd – ‘Thatchers Cider’ by the Battleborough Lane Gang.
Highly Commended: ‘Got Ya’ by the Cole Family; ‘Compare the Meerkat’ by the Clark Family; ‘NASA’ by the Baker Family; and ‘Tena Lady’ by Residents of Holywell Nursing Home.
