A Burnham-On-Sea slimmer is hoping to swap lbs for £’s after reaching the finals of a national weight loss competition in which she could win £10,000.
With her husband working overseas, Sarah Kidd had struggled with her weight after having her second child.
Coping on her own with two young children left her no time to look after herself and she found that living off coffee and junk food had made her balloon to a dress size 20.
After feeling very unhappy with how she felt both physically, emotionally and mentally, she’s managed to lose three stone and get down to a dress size 12 again.
She has now gone forward to the national finals of Herbalife’s Level 10 Competition and could win £10,000.
Sarah, 38, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “My husband Steve works overseas so it’s been a struggle coping on my own with our two young, energetic sons, Sonnie aged 4 and Leo aged 20 months.”
“My boys were huge when they were born weighing in at 9lb11oz and 10lb1oz so I had a couple of whoppers! After having my second child, I really struggled. I was overweight, my feet were swollen and I was very unhappy with my shape.”
“Because I was tired all the time, I had no energy and therefore no inclination to do anything about it. I lived off coffee and any food I could grab quickly often missing meals and eating junk food.”
“I tried not to be too hard on myself but I was very unhappy with how I felt both physically, emotionally and mentally. I knew I needed help.”
She added: “On one of his trips home, my husband noticed how unhappy I was. He recommended I try Herbalife so I met up with wellness coach Michelle Gibbs and my goodness she’s made such a difference to my entire life! My goals were to have more energy without relying on coffee and energy drinks, get a better body shape and get rid of all the aches and pains I was having from carrying extra weight.”
“I had a full wellness evaluation with Michelle and she showed me where I was on the visceral fat chart and body fat percentage scale and then asked me where I wanted to be and what my goals were. She recommended the products I would need and gave me plenty of tips and encouragement. Once on the programme, I began to eat 5 small meals a day, drink much more water and cut out the coffee. I’m not sure I even found it hard to lose the weight as I received so much support, advice and encouragement from my coach but also from people around me. I could see and feel the results very quickly so that also helped to motivate me.”
She says that she now feels like a completely different woman. “I have the energy and zest for life to give to my children, as well as confidence and a new found love for clothes shopping! My shopping trips are now completely different. I have the confidence to try on anything and know it will fit, feel and look good.”
