A former Burnham-On-Sea resident has beaten hundreds of skiers to finish in the top ten of a world skiing competition in America.
Sara Cox, pictured here, was competing on behalf of Great Britain against 1,223 competitors from 23 nations at the 2008 Masters World Cup in McCall, Idaho over the weekend.
She came 7th in the gruelling women’s 15km classic race on Saturday and was the first British skier, delighting her family back home in Burnham.
Father David Cox, who runs West Huntspill’s Laburnum House Hotel, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I’m very proud of her – she’s doing so well against the world’s very best competitors. She’s really on form at the moment.”
