Gardeners in the Burnham-On-Sea area who need advice on how to ‘de-stress’ their plants suffering from ‘heat exhaustion’ brought on by the recent heatwave can get free tips and guidance from staff at Sanders Garden World.
Due to the lack of rainfall and above average temperatures, the garden centre is setting up a ‘plant clinic’ to provide visitors with advice and tips on how to de-stress their plants during August.
Peter Burks, Managing Director of Sanders Garden World (pictured), explained: “Changes in climate are taking their toll on many garden plants and can cause what is technically known as ‘water stress’.”
“To help combat this condition we will be offering free advice and leaflets about irrigation systems and water-wise gardening techniques that will turn your garden into a stress-free zone.”
During August, visitors to the garden centre will be able to receive tips on how to create a water-wise garden. The advice will include help regarding everything from simple techniques, such as watering wisely, to more technical guidance on choosing the right plants and creating perfect soil conditions.
