Sanders Garden World unveils its plans for a Christmas Circus!
Christmas might still be months away but that hasn’t stopped Sanders Garden World from announcing its plans to host a yuletime circus this December!
The garden centre, near Burnham-on-Sea, said this week that it is putting the final touches to its arrangements for a circus troop called Circus Americano to visit for 28 days from December 5th.
The circus does not use animals, but relies on humans instead, as Sanders’ Managing Director, Peter Burks explained: “Each year we look to do something bigger and better and to improve on what we’ve achieved the Christmas before.”
“Circus Americano includes amazing trapeze artists, clowns, tightrope acts, fire eaters and African dancers and acrobats. It looks set to be quite an attraction and will help give us the wow factor we’re after. It promises to be fun. We’re all very excited about it.”
The 20 human circus performers will host two shows a day in a big top pitched adjacent to the garden centre. The early evening show at 4pm will last for an hour and the evening show at 7pm will last for around an hour and 30 minutes.
In the run up to December 25, and including the shows on December 24, the theme of the performances will be Christmas based. From December 28th until New Year’s Eve the show will change to a circus pantomime.
Peter added: “There will be a chance for people to take part in circus workshops on Saturday and Sunday mornings during the time the performers are with us. Children aged eight years and under need to be accompanied by an adult.
“Those who books tickets for the 4pm show will also be able to take advantage of a special menu in the Lemon Grove restaurant as it will be open until 6pm from December 5 until the final show on New Year’s Eve – excluding the days we are closed during the Christmas period. There will also be a magician entertaining guests in the restaurant from December 5 until 31.”
Tickets are priced £8 for adults and £6 for children or £24 for a family of four – two adults and two children. They are on sale at Sanders GardenWorld. Every ticket purchased also entitles the holder to be entered into a grand prize draw for a children’s ‘dream’ Christmas present collection.
