More than 300 Scouts, Beavers, Cubs and Explorers from across Sedgemoor gathered on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Tuesday evening (June 18th) to take part in a mass sandcastle building competition.
The youngsters from Burnham, Highbridge, Berrow, Cheddar, Bridgwater, Cannington, Wedmore, North Petherton, Bridgwater, Weare and Huntspill took part in the 13th annual contest besides the town’s jetty.
Dozens of entries were shaped into the sand, including boats, castles, planes and camp fires!
Co-organiser Mike Turner from Somerset Scouts said they were delighted with how the event had gone. He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The event is a wonderful opportunity for groups from across the district to come together. They’ve all had a great evening.”
