Over 200 Scouts, Beavers, Cubs and Explorers from across the district gathered on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Tuesday evening (July 14th) to take part in a mass sandcastle building competition.
The youngsters from Burnham, Highbridge, Cheddar, Bridgwater, Cannington, Wedmore, Weare and Berrow took part in the contest next to the town’s jetty.
One of the organisers, County Commissioner Neil Slade, told Burnham-On-Sea.com he was delighted at the event, which this year had a French theme for Bastille Day.
“We’ve had a great evening and the weather made perfect conditions for sandcastle building!”
This year’s judges were Mr Slade and Burnham Tourist Information Centre’s Manager, Annette Haggitt, who both praised the high quality of the entries.
