Young Burnham-On-Sea rugby players have made a special visit to Bristol Rugby Club where they paraded around the Memorial Ground before a top-flight match.
119 players and parents from Burnham Rugby Club boarded two coaches for the Memorial Ground earlier this week to watch Bristol play Llanelli in the British and Irish Cup.
Before the match, the Burnham youngsters were invited to parade around the pitch and then form a tunnel of honour for both sets of players as they ran out at the start of the match.
In the morning, the youngsters had been given a special training session at Burnham’s BASC ground, run by coaches from Bristol Rugby Community Foundation.
Youngsters from the Under 7’s up to the Under 15’s teams were put through their paces on moves including attack, defence and agility. Among the coaches was former Bristol Rugby Club player Ben Breeze.
“A great day was had by everyone who took part in this special experience,” Burnham Rugby Club’s Russell Dyson told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
