Over 3,500 visitors attend popular Burnham-On-Sea rugby festival

-

Over 3,500 young rugby players and their families attended a successful rugby festival in Burnham-On-Sea over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Youth rugby clubs from across the country took part in the 17th annual event, organised by Gullivers Sports Travel, at the town’s BASC Ground on Saturday and Sunday.

Vicky Cheevers from Gullivers said: “We had over 3,500 people attend this year’s event – our most ever. There were 110 teams from across the UK taking part from as far afield as Kent and Bucks with an age range of 7-13.”

“We took over the whole of Pontins at Brean and also had players staying in other accommodation locally, and with many supporting local shops and businesses the festival is good for business.”

She thanked Burnham Rugby Club for their ongoing support. “This is a great venue for rugby, whatever the weather!”
