Burnham-On-Sea rubbish collections to be made on Sunday

-

Rubbish collections in Burnham and Highbridge which would normally have been made on Friday will instead go ahead on Sunday (May 1st) due to the Royal Wedding.

Somerset Waste Partnership, which runs the services, announced the change to allow its staff to celebrate the wedding.

Meanwhile, Highbridge’s Isleport Recycling Centre will be open as usual from 8am-4pm today (Saturday), and from 8am-1pm on Sunday.

The centre will also be open from 8am-7pm on Bank Holiday (2nd May).

As well as taking garden waste at no charge, the centre can accept all the usual sorted materials for recycling – from glass jars and paper to wood and metal – for free while food waste should go in kerbside collection containers.

Aluminium cans and foil – such as food packaging, cake cases and party trays – can be recycled via kerbside boxes (bag separately) or at all recycling facilities.

All collection changes are displayed on the Somerset Waste Partnership website here.
