Burnham-On-Sea rubbish collections delayed by a day over festive period

-

Collections of rubbish and recycling will take place one day later this week due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, says Somerset Waste Partnership.

Friday’s collection in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge will go ahead on Saturday 31st December – and next Friday’s collection will take place on Saturday 7th January instead.

Clinical waste collections will also follow the revised days, while garden waste collections have been temporarily suspended and will re-start on 9th January.

Highbridge’s Waste Recycling Centre is open as normal over the festive period, except New Year’s Day, with opening times here.

Christmas trees can be disposed of at the recycling centre. Residents who pay for garden waste collections can also put our their tree (under 6ft without decorations) on their normal garden waste collection day. Otherwise, trees can also be put out next to bins on normal refuse collection days between 9th and 20th January.
