Burnham-On-Sea fire crews have been tackle two rubbish fires in the town over the past 24 hours which may have been set deliberately.
One fire engine was sent to Southwell Cresent in Highbridge on Wednesday evening – and another was set alight in Burnham town centrre on Thursday (December 9th).
“In Southwell Crescent, the crew found the bin had been deliberately set alight – it was quickly extinguished – but police were also called to investigate,” fire spokesman Simon Clews told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Firefighters were also called to a bin alight outside the Railway Inn in the High Street on Thursday afternoon.
“The fire was quickly put out by a nearby resident, but on both occasions the fires could have quickly spread,” added Mr Clews.
