Royal wedding cake fudge unveiled by Burnham-On-Sea fudge maker!

-

A Burnham-On-Sea fudge maker is celebrating the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton by making a very special batch of fudge.

Jonathan Walter, pictured, is well known for his fudge-making skills, having run a shop in the town’s High Street for several years, and has created his most special product yet – a Royal wedding cake flavoured fudge!

Jonathan told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “It’s proved to be the trickiest flavour fudge I’ve ever made, there are so many ingredients.”

“These include black treacle, currents, sultanas, cherries, mixed peel, almonds, nutmeg and brandy.”

“Once the fudge has cooled I ice each chunk by hand to ensure it looks and tastes like pieces of wedding cake.”

“It takes six hours in total to make but, judging from the interest I have had already, it has been worth it.”

Jonathan, who trades as Mister Fudge, will be sending a gift-wrapped box of the fudges to St James Palace as a special gift for William and Kate.

Burnham resident Teresa Edward-Larner, pictured, was one of the first customers to try the new fudge.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I was shocked by how much it tastes just like a piece of wedding cake! It’s always good to see something being made by hand, especially when you can eat it afterwards.”

Burnham residents can buy the fudge at Sea Breeze in Victoria Street, opposite the Ritz Cinema, or drop in at Jonathan’s shop in Cheddar. A donation to charity will also be made from the profits of the fudge sold on Jonathan’s website here.
