Final preparations underway for town’s Royal wedding street party

-

Final preparations are underway for a big street party in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea to celebrate tomorrow’s Royal wedding.

The town’s Hillview Carnival Club is organising a fundraising party in the High Street, which starts at 2pm on Friday, to mark the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

It is one of many events being held in the Burnham area to mark the occasion – see Burnham-On-Sea.com’s listing of all the celebrations by clicking here.

Hillview Chairman Mark Bishop told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The preparations are going well. We’ll have live music and entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening outside the Somerset and Dorset pub in the High Street.”

“It will be a super day to remember for a long time to come and we intend to put on a great event.”

Friday’s street party will be followed on Saturday by the Mayor’s ‘Right Royal Wedding Do’ which will be held from 12 noon outside the Victoria Hotel with a wide range of street entertainment and events taking place throughout the day in aid of two good causes – Burnham Hospital and BARB.
