A day-long street party will be held in Burnham-On-Sea on the day after next month’s Royal wedding.
The Victoria Hotel and Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, are organising the event – to be called The Mayor’s Right Royal Do – outside the hotel in Victoria Street on Saturday, April 30th.
Starting at mid-day, it will include live music from Burnham’s Ginger Hitlas, plus entertainment from performing arts group Curtain Call and several other groups.
There will also be a pig roast, fancy dress competition, sponsored head shave, face painting, a dog show, craft making, competitions and more.
“It promises to a really fun day for all ages to mark the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton,” said the Mayor.
“We also hope to raise a good sum for my two charities of the year, The Friends of Burnham Hospital and BARB.”
To get involved with the event – and to offer help – call Martin Lloyd at the Victoria Hotel on 01278 783085.
