A Burnham-On-Sea couple have described how they met The Queen during a visit to a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace this month.
Former Burnham and Highbridge Mayor and Mayoress Michael and Maria Clarke say they received the special invite “out of the blue”.
“We were greatly honoured to get the invite and were very lucky to briefly meet The Queen,” Michael told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We were there with many other invited guests from across the country, and moved over to a quieter part of the garden during the afternoon. We were surprised when the Queen then moved over in our direction and said hello.”
“It was such a memorable day and it was a wonderful surprise to receive the invitation out of the blue from the Lord Chamberlain.”
“We had a lovely walk around the Buckingham Palace gardens and met some wonderful people.”
