The Rotary Club of Burnham-On-Sea has a new President for the coming year.
Frank Clegg takes over the helm from retiring President Jim Tancock at the end of a busy year during which the Club took part in 32 events either for charity or helping good causes.
Jim thanked the Club for its support during his year of office. A year ago he asked Rotarians to be inspired and they had more than met the challenge.
Frank told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s a super club and we’re going to have a great year.”
President Frank is well known in the area as the organiser of the Newt Beer Festival, which starts in a fortnight’s time, where the club will be helping.
At the beginning of August the annual Rotary Bookshop will open in Burnham and the Club will be glad to receive donations of good used books, especially paperbacks, which can be taken to the National Blind Childrens’ Society in Market Street in Highbridge, or collected by arrangement with Rotarian Hugh Mackay (01278 787579) – all proceeds go to charity.
Helping Frank in his year of office will be President Elect Ian Breed and Vice President Carol Chalmers, who were inducted at the same time.
