Celebrations were underway at a Burnham-On-Sea park on Wednesday (April 8th) when a new two metre high fence costing £7,000 was officially opened in a bid to stamp out anti-social behaviour.
Members of the Rosewood Action Team launched a project last year to get the long-awaited fence and lockable gates installed at Rosewood Park.
Funding for the fence has come from Somerset County Council and Sedgemoor District Council.
“County Councillor Rosemarie Parsons was officiating as without her help and the very generous support of Sedgemoor District Council, this project would never have been completed,” the Rosewood Action Team secretary Kay Loveridge told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We have had lots of trouble here over the years with under-age drinking, anti-social behaviour and damage to the play area. The new fence will disuade youngsters from using this area.”
