Burnham-On-Sea residents’ group launches new ‘drop-in centre’

-

A group of residents who recently formed an action team to tackle low-level crime and anti-social behaviour on their estate are to launch a new drop-in centre in January.

The Rosewood Action Team, who introduced a successful speedwatch campaign in the autumn (pictured right), have announced their first drop-in session will be held at the Rosewood Communal Hall in Rosewood Close on Wednesday January 14th.

The centre will open from 4pm-7pm and then again on Wednesday 28th January from 4pm-7pm and thereafter on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.

John Alexander, Chairman of the Rosewood Action Team, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The centre will endeavour to help residents of the Rosewood Estate by advising on any issues that local people want to discuss or report, such as low-level crime and disorder, including anti-social behaviour and traffic problems.”

“We invite all residents of the Rosewood estate to come along and discuss any matters of concern over a coffee. I am confident that we can help you or we will know a man who can!”

It is hoped that representatives from the police, councils and other interested parties will be on hand to give advice.

The Rosewood Action Team has the support of Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, which recently awarded it £250 of grant funding.
