Burnham fire crews were called to Rooksbridge on Tuesday (June 9th) to tacke a blaze involving fencing, hedgerows and a garden shed.
The incident – in Rookery Close, Rooksbridge – occured at 2.50pm and crews used compressed air foam and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“There was approximately ten metres of fencing and twenty metres of hedge destroyed by fire,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The fire had spread to the garden shed which measured eight metres by four metres. The shed and the contents were destroyed by the fire. Crews made the area safe and gave advice to the occupier of the property.”
Meanwhile, Burnham firefighters and a specialist water rescue crew from Bridgwater were also sent to Queen’s Drive in Burnham shortly before 4.30pm on Tuesday to rescue a sheep stuck in a ditch.
