Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser’s poignant head shave raises over £4,000

-

A Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser who had his head shaved at the weekend has raised over £4,800 for a charity close to his heart.

Ron Harris is raising funds for Mac

So he ‘Braved the Shave’ in Burnham next to KDS Interiors in Victoria Street, so “that Fran and I will be bald together.”

The head shave was watched by a crowd of supporters who dug deep to give funds for MacMillan Nurses.

He said: “The MacMillan Nurses and Oncology staff at the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Hospital have been so kind and supportive to us both during this stressful time. I wanted to do something to help the people, who help the people suffering from cancer.”

He added: “I would also like to thank Tesco for sponsoring the refreshments, Burnham-On-Sea.com for advertising the event, and Steve, Ian and my daughters for being dab-hands with the razor! Luckily I still have both my ears! But most of all Fran and I would like to thank all of you who have shown us so much kindness and support through this difficult time and for your amazing generosity.”
