The RNLI has opened a new shop in Burnham-On-Sea’s High Street this week.
The existing temporary shop on the forecourt of Burnham-On-Sea’s lifeboat station in Pier Street has closed and the charity now has a new permanent home instead.
The new shop is in the High Street and is selling a wide range of the RNLI’s branded merchandise.
Spokesman Mike Lang told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We first opened a shop on the seafront in Burnham in 2006 but due to a lack of footfall and inclement weather conditions, we decided to move and opened a temporary shop instead at the lifeboat station. We’ve been looking for a permanent location ever since and when the opportunity arose for a small shop premises in the High Street we took it.”
New volunteers to help at the shop are being sought by the charity.
