Both Burnham-On-Sea’s lifeboats were launched on Thursday morning (October 28th) to help search for a person reported to be in a distressed state.
Burnham RNLI’s boats were launched at 9.44am to search for the missing man, aged in his 20s, along the shores of Brean Down.
Also involved were both Weston and Burnham Coastguards, two Weston lifeboats and a police helicopter.
The search was stood down by Swansea Coastguards at 10.50am after nothing was found.
Lifeboat Operations Manager Ricky Holmes told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “If there is any risk to a person’s safety we will always launch when requested by Swansea Coastguards.”
