The RNLI is currently looking for new lifeguards on beaches at Burnham-On-Sea and Brean for the upcoming peak season (Mid-June to September).
The charity says if you are fit, love being in the sea and on the beach and want to make a difference then this role could be perfect.
RNLI lifeguards are offered competitive rates of pay and continuous on-the-job training.
The RNLI have designed a specific training course for prospective lifeguards. The course will run on dates from late May – June and will take place at Weston Beach in North Somerset.
The accessibility of the beach makes it ideal for training, although it is not one of our lifeguard patrolled locations.
Following the training course there will then be an assessment day in June.
The course will teach applicants rescue skills, how to perform first aid, core lifeguard skills, as well as fitness and classroom sessions.

Applicants need to be aged 16+ on the day of the assessment, able to swim 400m in under 8 minutes in a pool, run 200 metres in less than 50 seconds on soft sand and be looking to apply to the local Sedgemoor RNLI beach lifeguard service. The course cost is £55 which includes SLGSB membership, assessment fee and course manuals.
