Burnham-On-Sea RNLI has this week issued a new appeal for volunteers to join its team.
The RNLI can provide suitable volunteers with on the job training. Operating lifeboats can be a natural progression for volunteer shore crew, or maybe a position as a launch tractor driver. Additionally, volunteering for the RNLI can aid your self-development or even future career prospects.
The Burnham-On-Sea RNLI fundraising team also need fundraising volunteers to help operate the Burnham RNLI shop in the High Street. Again, training is provided, so pop into our shop to enquire.
Fundraising Chairman Lesley Hart says: “Every day of every year, people of all backgrounds get into danger in the water. It’s a problem that we’re here to tackle.”
“You don’t have to like water to volunteer for the RNLI. We are keen to recruit new volunteers for the fundraising team as well as lifeboat crew. We hold a lot of fundraising events throughout the year, from street collections to the colour run and the annual lifeboat ball.”
“No matter what your role, volunteering with us offers you the opportunity to make a difference in your local community, to save lives and be part of the larger RNLI family. Come down and meet the team.”
If you wish to find out more, pop into the lifeboat station in Burnham.
