A summer fete held in Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (August 18th) raised hundreds of pounds for the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

The fete, held at the RNIB’s Kathleen Chambers House, was attended by a good number of supporters, including Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke.

The RNIB’s Sue Watts told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Although the weather was not very special, we received good support at our Summer Fete, raising a grand total of £692. All the funds will be used to take our residents out on day trips, and for those little extra special treats.”

“We would like to thank the Moose International for their continuous support, all the people that very kindly donated raffle prizes, and the many people that came along to help.”

Kathleen Chambers House is always looking for volunteers to come and help with activities both in the home, and on outings. For more information, contact Annette Saunders on 01278 782142.
