A long-running social club in Burnham-On-Sea has seen a huge 30% growth in the number of its members over the course of a year following a revamp of its facilities.
Burnham’s Ritz Social Club in Victoria Street has a record 600 members, up from 420 members a year ago.
The club’s manager Paul Hale says the club has recently invested in thousands of pounds worth of improvements, to include an upgrade of its bars.
On 1st October the club is launching a new loyalty card to members which will offer them discounts on drinks to encourage repeat visits.
“The club is going really well and we’re delighted to see the numbers increasing to a record level,” said Paul.
“The growth is due to us offering a safe environment for our members, with cheap prices and a friendly atmosphere,” he said.
The club offers acoustic music nights, darts leagues, bingo evenings, skittles and members events through the year.
The club was formed in 1936 and membership costs just £12/year for new members and £8 for renewals.
