Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Social Club has unveiled a £10,000 upgrade of its popular lounge.
The town’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, cut a ribbon to open the new-look facilities in Victoria Street on Saturday night.
Paul Hale, the club’s Chairman, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were honoured to have the Mayor and Mayoress along to perform the opening.”
“The refurbishment was much-needed – the lounge had not been changed very much since it was originally built 30 years ago.”
“The lounge now has newly-painted walls, new flooring, lighting and furniture, plus a brand new, modern fully-equipped bar.”
He added: “Anyone can hire the lounge – it now seats 65 people and is open for public bookings.”
