A popular rickshaw travel service that launched in Brean earlier this year is set to expand into Burnham-On-Sea during July.
The service, operated by local firm Redi-Pedi-Go, began offering rickshaw journeys across Brean in March where it has proven a success.
Now, owner Kenny Williams has announced that he will be launching the service in Burnham for residents and tourists.
He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I will be operating my rickshaw taxis along Burnham seafront and through the High Street from the second week of July until the end of August.”
“We’ll be starting with two rickshaws doing a set sort of loop route. The fares will start from £1 per person up to a maximum of £5 per ride.”
“Both rickshaws will be in orange with matching orange T shirts and ID badges. The riders are local guys and we are looking forward to working in Burnham.”
Kenny predicts the service will quickly catch on. “I think the rickshaws will go down very well for the tourists and local residents – it is something completely new and will boost visitors and the economy.”
“So far in Brean we have been extremely successful with all concerned including the local Parish Council. The holiday makers thoroughly enjoy the service and we are very proud to operate. We currently have an extra two rickshaws, now making a total of 12 as business demands it.”
