Businessman plans new ‘family-friendly’ Burnham-On-Sea restaurant

-

Plans for a new restaurant in Burnham-On-Sea town centre have been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council this week.

Satnam Singh, who has been trading in Burnham for over three decades, proposes to open a new restaurant and bar across two floors at 8 and 8A The High Street.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We plan to be different from the rest of the food outlets in the town. This will be a family-friendly restaurant and we would like to offer Vegan and vegetarian dishes plus many fish dishes and more.”

He added that Burnham Shopping Centre – which he owns – will remain and it will be unaffected by the plans.

The new restaurant plans to be fully licensed and open from 11am until 11.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am until 10pm Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The restaurant extension will be built on top of the existing ground floor shop and will also be available for private functions.

If approved by council planners, the development will create six full-time and six part-time jobs. The proposals have been logged as reference number 11/18/00105 and can viewed on Sedgemoor District Council’s website under planning.
