New repairs are being carried out to Burnham-On-Sea’s sea wall steps after high tides during the past fortnight caused damage to the work carried out earlier this year.
Work to repair Burnham-On-Sea’s sea wall went ahead earlier this year by the Environment Agency, as reported here.
Several walkers have reported over the last few days that some of the sealant filler and strips that were used to fill the spaces between the concrete steps has come loose at the northern end of the The Esplanade, as pictured here.
An Environment Agency spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are aware of the damage caused to the steps in the sea wall at Burnham-On-Sea and are working with our contractors on repair options. We will be carrying out repairs as soon as possible.”
