Dozens of people are expected to turn out at Remembrance services in the Burnham-On-Sea area on Sunday (November 9th) in the 90th year since the Armistice agreement was signed.
The town’s main Remembrance Service will start outside Burnham Memorial Hospital, with a parade at 10.30am from nearby Oxford Street.
Former servicemen and members of Burnham’s Royal British Legion will take part in the procession, plus MP David Heathcoat-Amory (pictured above at the 2005 service), as well as volunteers from the town’s emergency services.
There will be a two-minute silence at 11am at Burnham war memorial, where the Last Post will be played and wreathes laid. A full service will then follow in St Andrew’s Church.
A separate service will be held by the Highbridge War Memorial Trust at 10.45am at Southwell House, Highbridge. The Rev Robin Lodge will lead the service.
