Two weekends of sailing events will be held during the 2009 Burnham-On-Sea Regatta, which starts this weekend.
The first race begins at 12.30pm on Saturday (August 15th) and will be followed by a duck race at 2pm and a further competition at 2.30pm on Sunday, which also coincides with the annual ESCAPE Day.
An outdoor barbecue will be held on Saturday at 3pm at Burnham Sailing Club and a Spanish evening will follow on Sunday from 4.30pm.
A colourful tender race will be held at 7pm on Saturday August 22nd, starting on Burnham beach next to the jetty.
Organiser Steve Short told Burnham-On-Sea.com the annual procession of illuminated yachts past Burnham has been delayed until later in the year.
“We’ve scaled back the whole regatta this year to make it more manageable, but there’s still plenty going on,” he said.
