Burnham-On-Sea residents are being encouraged to upgrade their red nose with comedy-waving hand glasses ahead of Red Nose Day this Friday (24th March)!
Priced at £2 and available at Burnham-On-Sea’s Specsavers store in the High Street, all money raised from sales of the specs will be donated to Comic Relief. The glasses come in adult and children’s sizes.
Rama Venkat, store director at Specsavers in Burnham-On-Sea, says: “The glasses are fantastic and we’ll be encouraging everyone who buys a pair to also join our giant Mexican wave on social media as well. Simply strike a pose with your glasses and post with the #GiveUsAWave to receive your very own wave back.”
The Burnham-On-Sea store is also holding a dedicated Comic Relief fundraising week from Monday 13th March until Friday 17th March which will include a sweepstake and a variety of other different fundraising activities.
Local people are encouraged to come down and join in the fun to help boost the fundraising total further. Staff will also be dressed in red and wearing the comedy specs during this time.
Specsavers in Burnham-On-Sea has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
