Record numbers of students attend King Alfred School’s sixth form open morning

-

Record numbers of students, parents and carers attended the King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge for an open morning after 110 extra students signed up on the previous year.

The sixth form has also achieved some of the south west’s best performance statistics. And just this week four students were called up for interviews by the University of Oxford.

Head of Sixth Form Jonathan Gaskell said: “It was great to welcome so many prospective students and parents from Weston at our open morning.”

“Our small school-based Sixth Form is proving to be a popular choice for Year 11 students looking to study prestigious A Level subjects in a friendly and supportive school with high expectations and high aspirations.”

TKASA sixth form is part of The Priory Learning Trust and is attracting students from schools in Weston-super-Mare including Priory Community School Academy, Worle Community School Academy, as well as Bridgwater.

Students attending the sixth form receive a bursary for travel as well as a free laptop for their studies.
