Dozens of drivers are taking part in the 22nd annual Brean Rally, which is underway at the village’s Leisure Park this weekend.
The rally started on Saturday 27th despite wet conditions and continues today (Sunday 28th January).
Voted the South West’s Rally of the Year for the third time in 2016, the Brean Stages Rally is promoted by locally based Club Rallysport West and is held entirely within the confines of Brean Leisure Park.
The drivers are tackling the 12 special stages over two days around the roads of the Leisure Park and requests for entries have been received from all around the UK.
A wide range of rally cars are taking part, from the spectacular World Rally Cars to the ever popular Ford Escorts, Vauxhalls and Peugeots.
Once again the organisers are ensuring that spectators will be well looked at Brean over the two days, with three spectator areas giving viewing of the rally stages.
This, together with a covered seated grandstand and the park’s inside and outside catering facilities, will provide a weekend extravaganza of motorsport.
Spectators will be admitted to the park over both days for an admission charge of £10 (accompanied children under 12 will be admitted free) and car parking will be £5.
