A Burnham-On-Sea widower has described the emotional moment a rainbow formed over the town’s lighthouse soon after his wife’s ashes were scattered there.
Deryk Walker’s 84 year-old wife, Vera, recently passed away and, having been a keen walker who frequently visited the lighthouse, the family decided to scatter her ashes there.
“We knew she’d have loved that because she also enjoyed walking the dog there and letting it play in the pool underneath,” Deryk told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“By arrangement with the Town Council, we also arranged for a seafront bench to be dedicated in her memory and when my daughter and her husband sat on the bench last week, they were amazed to see a stunning rainbow form over the lighthouse.”
“It was such a special moment that we managed to capture on camera. We couldn’t believe it – it was an emotional sight that meant so much to us.”
