Train services through Highbridge station were severly disrupted on Friday evening (February 25th) after a man was killed when he was hit by a train in Bridgwater.
The driver of a First Great Western train travelling from Cardiff to Taunton reported the incident at 9.15pm.
British Transport police and Avon and Somerset officers attended the scene close to Bridgwater train station.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said in a statement: “A male person was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries into this incident are ongoing. The matter is not being treated as suspicious.”
