Burnham-On-Sea RAF Association marks centenary with VIP lunch

-

The Burnham-On-Sea and District Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force with a buffet lunch in the town this week.

The event, held at The Ritz Social Club, was attended by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Brigadier Tom Lang, plus Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, and representatives of other organisations and members of the RAFA.

“The Ritz Social Club prepared an excellent buffet which was enjoyed by all,” said a spokesman.

The 100th anniversary tablet was on display and was transferred by motorcycle to the Weston Super Mare Branch, leaving the Royal British Legion Branch, escorted by motorcycles of the RBL motorcycle club on Saturday morning.
