Burnham-On-Sea’s Air Cadets mark formal affiliation with RAFA

-

The Royal Air Forces Association has marked its long association with Burnham-On-Sea’s Air Cadets this week with a formal presentation.

The RAFA’s local branch treasurer, Derek Chivers, presented a certificate of affilliation with 290 Sqn Detached Flight to the Commanding Officer Steve Manville in the presence of staff and cadets.

Cadets from Burnham and Highbridge have been helping the RAFA in recent months by collecting for the RAFA Wings Appeal in Burnham’s High Street.

The Air Cadets meet on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm in the cadet hut in Burnham Road, which is accessed via the entrance opposite Cassis Close.

Youngsters can join from their 12th birthday, having commenced school year 8. They can go along for a taster session to see and hear about the wide range of activities on offer.
