Anniversary of BT Radio Station’s closure marked at reunion

-

Former staff of the BT Radio Station in Highbridge held a reunion on Friday night (April 30th), ten years to the day since the station closed down.

Over 120 guests attended the special function at the Battleborough Grange Hotel, with many people travelling from distant parts of the UK to reminisce and meet colleagues for the first time in many years.

A selection of photographs of the station, now the site of the Mulholland Park housing estate in Highbridge, were on display throughout the evening, and many staff brought memorabilia of their own to share with colleagues.

Event organiser and ex-radio officer Larry Bennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a highly successful evening, which ran perfectly to plan. It was brilliant to see so many friends and colleagues again, and to share stories about the station. The station was a unique place to work, and a significant part of all of our lives.”
