A fundraising race night has raised over £2,338 for Burnham-On-Sea’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB Search & Rescue.
The charity organised the fun evening at The Avenue Tennis Club in Burnham earlier this month when dozens of people attended.
A series of horse races was screened during the evening on a big screen and the audience had a chance to become owners of the runners and have a flutter on the outcome of the races, with funds going towards BARB’s life-saving work.
A spokesman said: “A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported this fundraising event. BARB is a small independent charity that relies wholly on local funds to keep running and this event was a fun night that raised an amazing total – we are humbled by the support!”
BARB Search & Rescue has been running for over 25 years, and operates two rescue hovercrafts and inshore rescue boats from Burnham.
