Police probe second burglary in Brean following Burnham break-in

-

Police are investigating whether a burglary in Burnham-On-Sea last weekend was linked to a separate second raid in Brean.

Cash was stolen in the break-in at Brean’s Quick Bite Cafe on the same night that Scott’s Furnishings in Burnham’s Victoria Street was burgled.

Police spokesman Craig Evry confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re investigating a burglary at Quick Bite in South Road, Brean, which happened between 6pm Friday May 22nd and 6am on Saturday May 23rd.”

“The offenders forced open a door and stole a quantity of cash from inside.”

Police are reviewing CCTV footage in Brean as part of their investigation.

The spokesman added: “We’re looking into whether the two incidents are linked as a line of enquiry.”

We reported here last weekend that two people had smashed their way into Scott’s in Victoria Street, pictured right.

If anyone has information on either of the offences, call the police on 101 and quote the log number 53525/15.
