The annual search for Burnham-On-Sea’s new Carnival Queen and Princesses is underway.
Youngsters in the Burnham-On-Sea area have just a few weeks to enter this year’s contest to become the Carnival Queen or a Princess.
Entries for the annual competition are being accepted until Wednesday 18th April ahead of a special pageant evening at The Princess Theatre on Friday 20th April, from 7-9pm.
“We are looking for girls and ladies to participate in this prestigious event to be in with a chance of becoming the official 2018 Carnival Queen or Princess,” said co-organiser Tony Rees.
“The lucky winners will not only receive a photograph of themselves at the pageant, they will also receive prize money.”
“Winning the Carnival Queen and Princess Pageant provides individuals with an excellent opportunity to get involved more with their local community and to gain invaluable life experience. A great thing to put on your CV.”
Carnival Queen entrants must be 14 years old or over (there is no upper age limit). Carnival Princesses must be aged between 5-13 years.
All entrants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Carnival Queen entry fees are £10 and Carnival Princess entry fees are £6.
The Queen and Princesses are required to participate in the 2018 carnival procession on Monday 5th November 2018.
The Carnival Queen will also be expected to attend various events throughout the year, to include the prestigious Carnival Presentation Evening in January 2019. More information will be provided upon application.
